  • Overview

    The Tax Senior will be responsible for preparation and/or review of partnership tax returns for clients within the Firm’s Financial Services sector, including hedge funds, private equity firms, broker-dealers and investment managers. The candidate will gain international tax experience, and will also be called upon to carry out tax related research, analysis and writing assignments. The Senior will work closely with partners, managers and clients during all phases of engagements.

    Essential Duties

    • Prepare complex Financial Services sector tax returns.
    • Review tax returns and projects prepared by Tax Staff, while gaining increasing responsibility within the review process.
    • Perform research, analysis and write up work in connection with planning memoranda, tax issue resolution and tax opinions.
    • Assist in overall staff development and training.
    • Research and consult on various tax engagements.
    • Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.
    • Utilize tax preparation software to prepare, review and process returns.
    • Interact with managers, partners and clients.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Law Degree.
    • CPA certified or commitment to pass CPA exam.
    • 3+ years of recent or current CPA or law firm experience.
    • Working knowledge and/or experience with tax compliance for partnership entities.
    • Strong research, writing and analytical skills.
    • Overall planning and problem solving experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of tax software, preferably ProSystem fx.
