The Staff Accountant is responsible for working with a team on all accounting and financial functions. The primary

responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include but are not limited to: assistance with the monthly close process; preparation of account reconciliations and analyses; accounts payable research and processing, where applicable

and other accounting and/or finance projects when needed. The Staff Accountant will be a part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting and finance matters, in addition to creating procedures to ensure the close and reporting processes are efficient and accurate.

The Staff Accountant must be able to work in a rapidly changing environment and provide timely, high-quality and

accurate work product.

Essential Duties

  • Preparation and recording of journal entries required to reflect monthly financial activity.
  • Preparation of workpapers supporting the monthly close process and month end account balances.
  • Assist with the review of the monthly financial activities, including analytical review of the monthly financial and operational results.
  • Be actively involved in generating monthly financial statements and related footnotes.
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage assignments to ensure that quality standards are achieved.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting required.
  • Recent college grad or 1-2 years of experience required.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Responsive team player with ability to quickly prioritize among numerous tasks.
  • Task and goal oriented, and capable of functioning in an entrepreneurial and corporate setting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with strong emphasis in Excel.
  • Previous internship in an accounting and/or finance role a plus.

The compensation for this position ranges from $65,000 - $75,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
